Attunement: Kenneth Yarus

Friday, June 12, 2026 * 5 - 8pm

Attunement presents ten new original oil paintings by landscape artist Kenneth Yarus, each an immersive meditation on the majesty of Glacier National Park. Working in the grand tradition of the Hudson River School, Yarus channels the reverence, luminosity, and expansive vision that defined America’s first great landscape painters—while bringing a distinctly contemporary sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and scale. These canvases unfold with sweeping alpine vistas, glacial lakes alive with reflection, and vast Montana skies rendered in layered tonal harmonies that reward prolonged viewing. Each painting feels less like a depiction and more like an experience—an invitation into silence, grandeur, and sublime beauty.

What distinguishes Attunement for the discerning collector of American Western art is Yarus’s uncompromising authenticity. He hikes the terrain he paints, studying the shifting mountain weather, the mineral clarity of high-altitude light, and the rhythm of ridgelines from firsthand vantage points. The result is work that is not only vast and atmospheric, but grounded in lived encounter—landscapes that breathe with presence and integrity. These ten original oils offer collectors the rare opportunity to acquire masterfully composed, museum-caliber paintings that honor both the legacy of 19th-century American landscape art and the enduring spirit of the Western wilderness.

"Loving is listening. It is time spent in attention, an effort to understand. Our world, however, is loud. In the constant hum of notifications, headlines, and urgency, true listening becomes rare—and harder than it seems. For me, listening happens away from distraction, in nature’s quiet. There, I feel myself becoming attuned. These are sounds that do not demand attention, but reveal themselves when you slow down and choose to listen: wind moving through the trees, water lapping softly at the shore, birds chittering among the branches, a distant waterfall whispering down a mountain. I love these places. I return to them often- even as I paint them. I watch and listen, and in that moment, I try to understand." -Kenneth Yarus
