Aaron Hazel is an award-winning artist whose work is featured nationally in galleries and publications. Hazel earned his B.F.A. from Whitman College where he was also a member of the basketball team. Much of Hazel’s early work focused on the art of athletics and he has been commissioned by numerous professional athletes. Hazel's recent work focuses on minorities of the West, who are vastly underrepresented in general academia. An avid "student of the game" Hazel is constantly exploring different subject matter. He assists in the workshops of renowned impressionist Robert Moore. Hazel also serves on the Jury Committee for the Out West Art Show in Great Falls. Hazel’s work has been featured at the Museum of Pop Culture, Seattle, Washington, and his work hangs on the walls of the corporate offices of Nike, Facebook, and Starbucks. About his work, Aaron says, "I love what the palette knife can do, particularly with skin. It can have this tactile and textured quality. When you load your knife up with color, each stroke creates these chords of color. It can have an almost pixelated look to it."
