For forty years, this gallery has stood as a gathering place for collectors, artists, and admirers of the American West, and it’s an incredible honor to celebrate that legacy with this anniversary exhibition. Having served as only the third owner in the gallery’s history — and having had the privilege of guiding it for the past twenty years — I’ve seen firsthand how Western, wildlife, and sporting art continues to grow in both cultural importance and market strength. This exhibition brings together some of the finest artists working today, including Jessica L. Bryant, Brent Cotton, Michael Dudash, Martin Grelle, Logan Maxwell Hagege, Abigail Gutting, Dustin Van Wechel, Jeremy Winborg, Joe Kronenberg, Chad Poppleton, Michael Coleman, Nicholas Coleman, Luke Frazier, Colt Idol, Brooke Wetzel, Gary Lynn Roberts, Kenneth Yarus and Tobias Sauer, each of whom represents the extraordinary depth and vitality of contemporary Western art.
For four decades, our mission has been not only to promote and preserve the spirit of the American West, but also to help build lasting brands for many of the country’s leading Western artists while guiding collectors in assembling world-class collections. A tidbit about the gallery history: Bob Drummond founded the gallery in 1986 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Bob Drummond is also one of the three founders of the Coeur d'Alene Art Auction. Bob wanted to focus on the CDAA so he sold the gallery to Mike Overby. When Bob Drummond retired, Mike Overby took Bob's place at the Coeur d'Alene Art Auction, and sold the Coeur d'Alene Galleries to Buddy Le who has owned it for the past 20 years.
