Donovan, Kelly

Raised in the mountains of Colorado, Kelly took an interest in Western art at an early age. He loves the old West, spending the time needed in research to ensure authenticity in his work. Oil, watercolor, pencil, and bronze are the mediums in which Kelly chooses to work. He is also an accomplished mural and sign artist. While attending a Cowboy Artists of America workshop in Kerrville, TX, Kelly found support from members Bruce Green and Martin Grelle. Both were excited by the maturity and expression in Kelly's work. He was commissioned to provide two pieces of cowboy art for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Benefits Auction at Newport Beach, CA. A second commission came from Bull Riders Only for limited editions prints and a calendar cover depicting bull riders.

Kelly's work has been exhibited at many major art shows, including The Pacific Rim Wildlife and Western Art Show in Seattle,WA, The Phippin Western Art Show, Prescott, AZ, The Diamonds and Spurs Art Show and Auction in Boulder CO and the Mountain Oyster Club Art Show in Tucson, AZ. He has won numerous awards at these shows, and took first place in the oil painting category at the 2000 Phippin Western Art Show.

He lives with his wife and five children in Corinne, Utah. Kelly's work can be found in private and corporate collections nationwide.
