Powell, Ace 1912-1978
Born in Tulerosa, New Mexico, and raised in Montana, this well known contemporary painter, sculptor, and etcher attended school on the Blackfeet reservation. He studied with Charles Russell at Bull Head Lodge near Apgar. Powell was a full-time artist from 1938 until his death in 1978.
